The High Commissioner has cabled from London, April 23, as follows: Mutton.—Market weak, sale dull for ail qualities, supplies increasing; averago prices Canterbury 4d, North Islaod 3%d. Lamb.—'Market weak and inactive supply exceeds demand; holders anxious to sell. Average prices: Canterbury 5 ] / s d, other New Zealand 4%d. Beef.—'No alteration in market since last week.
Butter.—Market is temporarily depressed, some holders forcing sales; but market has been bare of New Zealand supplies; buyers cautious, as season too far advanced. Average prices New Zealand choicest 114s, Danish 120s, Siberian H4s, Australian and Argentine 110s.
Cheese.—Market quiet, small business dcing Average prices: Now Zealand finest white Ols, colored 59s Od. ■ Hemp.—Market not quite firm, spot prices New Zealand good fair £24 10s, fai" 1 £23 10s, Manila fair current | £25; forward shipment good fair £24 10s, fair £23 10s, Manila £23 10s; output of Manila for week 24,000 bales. Wheat.—'Market quiet, prices slightly weaker, no New Zealand to band. Oats.—Market quiet, with tendency in faVor of buyers, less demand. New Zealand sparrowbills on spot, en gran-: arr. 10s per 3841b, New Zealand Danish 17s per 3201b. Peas.—Market steadier; New Zealand partridge 50s per 5041b. Beans.—Market firm owing to reduced supplies; New Zealand f.a.q. old crop ! 39b Od per 5041b.
