Wright, the aviator, made another unsuccessful attempt to capture the prize offered for a successful flight from Manchester to London, ffhe time allowed was twenty-four hours, and Wright's time was 25hr. 4min. A gale damaged his aeroplane, and It will take three days to repair the damage.

AEROPLANE RACING TN FRANCE.

There were six competitors in an aeroplane race from Nice to Cape Ferret and back, a distance of fifteen Latham was first, doing the journey in I4snim. 44sec. SOME NOTABLE FIAiNG. Received April 20. 12.1 p.m. Paris, April 25. Latham's flight to and from Nice to Cape Ferret, over the sea, was a distance of 54 kilometers—a record. The aeroplane afterwards stopped and fell into the sea, but Latham was rescued unhurt. * l -

Qiecaters aeroplaned from Chalons to Dijon with a passenger. London. April 25.

In a Farman biplane, with two motors, one of which stopped, in the Daily Mail competition, C. S. Rolls flew 50 miles over the sea. twice, including 32 miles ■without a stop.
