DR HARDWICK SMITH
By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Dr Hardwick-Sniith. medical superintendent of the Wellington Hospital, was to-day appointed by the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board as medical superintendent of all institutions under the jurisdiction of the Board
The new appointment carries a salary of £7OO per annum, with free house, lijalit and fuel; but no right of practice is allowed.
Dr. Ilanlwiek Smith, .M.D., H.A., 8.5.. F.R.C.S., find 8.C1i,, is thirty-thru' years of age, ami a year since married a daughter of .Mr. YV. 11. Triggs, editor of the Christelulrch Press. lie came from En gland in InOS, after showing particularly brilliant attainments, and began practice in Christchnrch. In the latter part of 1!)0S Dr. Ewart. then medical superintendent of the Wellington Hospital, went into private practice, and Dr. Smith was chosen to till the vacancy from among thirtv-eiuht candidates.
