LONDON PRODUCE REPORT. Messrs E. Griffiths and Co., New Plymouth, are in receipt of the following market report from their London principals, Messrs Mills and Sparrow, dated March 11:
Since our last report the weather has been changeable, ami the temperature lias been fairly high for the time of year.
Danish: The market has again been strong, and the quotation has been raised 5 kroner.
French: Quotations are unchanged, and although buyers are looking for a reduction on, account of the mild weather we are now experiencing, we are afraid that this is vary improbable during the next week or two, as supplies still continue to be short. Australian: The arrival per Orvieto has met a splendid market. Sellers have taken full advantage 01 the keen demand that has existed, with the result that everything has cleared at from 4s to O'.s over last week's prices. Although the retail price of butter was raised Id per lb last week, so far this has not had the effect of checking the demand, and we certainly see no reason why it should, and it seems to us that conditions favor a higher level of prices of butter all round. We note .with pleasure that good rains have fallen in most of the dairying districts of Australia, so tnat we may now expect shipments to continue on a good scale for some time; in fact, we are hoping that there will be no cessation at all, so that we can keep our clients usi.-ig colonial butter right throughout the vear.
New Zealand: Owing to the; higher prices prevailing this week, some buyers ■Lave re-sold a lew of the butters ex
Tongariro, thinking, no doubt, they would be able to replace by the Corinthic's shipment at perhaps the same or lower .price, but we fear they will be sadly disappointed, as wc look for tki; Corinthie's to sell at a fairly high price. Sellers are quoting 12Ss to 130s ex this steamer, which is expected to dock tomorrow, but at the moment buyers are holding oil', with the hope of getting in at a few shillings less next week, but we are opinion that they will have to pay the prices demanded.
Xew Zealand: Stocks of white seem to be exhausted and there is good enquiry for the Corinthic., which we expect will make more money, but there is still a fair amount of colored on the market, the general price being 58s fid, while oils is obtainable for anything particularly fine.
