FIRES.
FIRE AT CARTERTON. By Telegraph—Press Association. Carterton, Thursday. A fire at Carterton this morning destroyed a house occupied by Mrs. MacMillan. The outbreak was caused by a defective chimney. The house was owned by the estate of the late R. Hoker, and was insured for CSO in the Guardian office, the furniture being insured for £75 in the Commercial office. It was a total loss.
