Father Janssen, a Belgian priest in Italy, was ordered to resign his Vatican offices and retire to a monastery for three months because he spontaneously wrote thanking Mr. Roosevelt for his services to Catholics in America.
It is officially reported in Rome that the Papal Nuncio at Vienna has been recalled for visiting Mr. Roosevelt.
