Regret wais l expressed at the meagre attendance. The meeting had been advertised thoroughly, but the response was not up to expectations. The ambu- ' lance classes were of great benefit to the community. Many of the pupils were from the country, and these, after 'becoming proficient in the work, were of great assistance .in rendering first

aid, etc., to the unfortunates who were not able to get the benefit of doctors' assistance. More interest should be taken in the work.

It was decided that Mrs. Dockrill interview the doctors re taking classes during the coming winter. Mrs. Dowling consented to give assistance at the classes should the- doctor be .unable to attend. Mess'rs. Berridge and Hughes were deputed to wa.it upon members of the Gar'rison Band with reference to getting •them to join in with St. John's.
