Hewitt's Pictures to-night The annual meeting of St. John's Ambulance Association will he held in the Town Hall this (Tuesday) evening, commencing' at 7..'10 o'clock. Judging by the number of tickets already sold for the dance to be held in the Brougham-street Hall in aid of the Recreation Sports Ground on Thursday next, the function should be a huge success. Needless to say, the supper arrangements witf be all that can be desired, as the ladies' committee of the Sports oround is too well known to leave any doubt on that question, and as the music is in the capable hands of Mrs. W. Woods a treat should be in store for all those who attend. Silk Petersham's advertised in this issue by the Busy Cash ,Store, Kingstreet, will not arrive before next Wednesday, being short shipped. Messrs. Ambury Bros, have nn advertisement in this issue dealing with their exceedingly larqe stock of winter wearing apparel. In every conceivable line the firm has made its preparations for a. good season's business, and the public have been quick ;to appreciate the enterprise, splendid service, and tip-top value which mark the business of this popular establishment. There are some very fine window displays at their premises just now. notably that dealing with ladies' evening wear, whilst mothers find much to interest them in the woollen jersey suits for the little chaps. Men's and boys' wear is the care of a separate staff in its own distinct department, and there is a fine stock.—Advt.
