The Times' Toronto correspondent reports that Mr. Balfour's statement in regard to Imperial wheat being admitted into Britain free lias revived interest in the policy of inter-Imperial preference, which, it has been stated, has been-deadened by the slow progress of the movement in Britain. Mr. F. Smith states that the overwhelming majority of tariff reformers' agree with Mr. Balfour's decision.
