HALLEY'S COMET.
SEEN FHOM AUCKLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Xight. Mr. Stevenson, F.K.A.S., reports having seen Ilalley's comet about 5 o'clock this morning. It was seen through, clouds, and the increasing twilight made observation difficult. Mr. Stevenson anticipates that it will be a more conspicuous object in another week, as is now rapidly approaching us. There is a possibility,' he thinks, of the comet's tail reaching to Venus about '2nd May. as the comet will apparently pass near that planet.
