A meeting of the Patent Slip Company was held to-day to finally consider plans for the extension of the slip and engineering shops by the company at Evans 1 , Bay.

The company has decided to extend the works and to spend over £300,000 (chiefly in labour) in connection with Che scheme. Under a special Act of 1908 the company is empowered to reclaim land from tiie sea, au-ii piSins were prepared showing tiirt the total area to be obtained would be four acres of new -grr/und. Thisj will provide ample room for the new workshops which the company proposes to erect.
