KITTAWA TO REPLACE TITE TE ANAU. Owing to the Te Anau being unable to keep to schedule time through vavi-1 ous delays on the coast, the Kittawa j "will leave Dunedin to-morrow for Xe\v Plymouth via the usual ports. She should arrive here about Thursday next . AMERICAN NAVIGATION LAWS. The claim made by the United States Government against the Hamburg-Ame-rican Line for carrying passengers between American ports amounted to 130.000 dollars, and this is termed a "penalty for carrying American passengers between two American ports,." The Hamburg-American Line boat Cleveland shipped 650 passengers at New York for a trip round the world, with the intention of making San Francisco the tev ; minal port. It is now reported tint the Hamburg-American Company Ins aranged with the United States Government that the question whether this interpretation of the Coasting Trade / Law is valid shall be decided by the courts of law, and that, in case the deciI sion goes against the company, the penalty to be exacted sliall not exceed 10'ifl dollars.
