Mr. T. Ronayne, General Manager of. Railways, is in town to-day. A letter just received from Mr. Robert formerly Minister of Lands, shows that on 2nd March he was starting upon a few days' visit to Paris.. Upon his return to London he intended making arrangements to leave at once for New Zealand.
Mr. Adolpli Kohn, who has been in. business as a jeweller in Auckland for twenty years, and who was a prominent Mason and an officer of the Manchester Unity of Oddfellows, died suddenly yesterday morning from heart disease. The deceased was 53 years of age.—Press wire. i

Budge, president of the Stratford Racing Club, haa been appointed' by Sir George Clifford, chairman! of the New Zealand Racing Conference,, to act as the Taranaki district clubs*' representative on that body, this seat having been rendered vacant by the death of the late Mr. R. E. Mcßae.
Mrs. Ann Anderson, widow of Mr.David Anderson, sen., died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Annie Anderson, at Wellington yesterday morning (states a Press telegram). The deceased was born in America ninety-five years ago, and came out to New Zealand' with her husband in the barque Pilgrim in 1849. Mr. Anderson settled in Wellington, ami built up a large and prosperous business. His death occurred a number of years ago. For the past two years Mrs. Anderson had been confined' 'to bed. She has left a familv of four 6ons (Messrs. David, Edward, Allan, and' ,Tob Anderson) and four daughters (Mesdames John Ballance, S. S. Griffiths, A. Anderson, and Foreman).
