NOXIOUS WEEDS.
To the Editor. Sir.—The proceedings of the Court have lately come under my notice. One could pay a solicitor and get off lightly. Two were men in the prime of life and had no excuse. Another was a man of over 70 years, irho had worked in a way that would have done credit to fl younger man, hut because he had not carried out the strict letter of the law he iva.s fined the same. A neighbor, who came to witness in his favor, was not allowed to speak. Another case was that of a man of over 60 and not in the best of health and showed proof that he was making arrangements to employ help to clear the land, but all to no effect. It is very easy to pass Acts, hut not quite, so easy to carry them out. Anyone hut a fool ought to know that it is impossible for farmers to do much 'weed clearing in summer, and the action of the Government in encouraging lahor unions makes it hard to employ any one. In the meantime, farmers are at the mercy of a set <if inspectors.—l am, etc., ' IMPARTIALITY.
