HALLEY'S COMET. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received April 11, 11.10 p.m. Sydney, April 11. Bailey's comet was picked up by the Observatory forty-five minutes .before before sunrise to-day. It was not brilliant, and seemed about as large as a star of the eighth magnitude. CARTERS STRIKE IN SYDNEY. Sydney, April 1 11. The carters and drivers have struck in sympathy with the timber stackers. The industry is practically idle. Efforts are being made to induce the •wharf labourers to make a common cause with the strikers. DYNAMITERS AT WORK. Brisbane, April 11. An attempt, the fourth within eighteen months, was made to .dynamite and fire a station at Charters Towers. The damage was trifling.
