SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Bf »Jegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, April 8. Following is the Rev. D. >C. Bates' ■weather summary and forecast: —The barometer has fallen everywhere for a westerly area of low' pressure, but a sharp rise took place in the south last night, and was accompanied by high southerly winds and heavy rain in parts. The barometer has fallen again to-day, and present indications are for westerly winds, strong to gale; rain in most parts of the country, snow on the higher levels, and colder weather following. The lowest barometric presure is due to pass in the south after about eighteen hours.
