Forty of the late Mr. Charles Yerkes' pictures were sold at auction in New York, and realised £134,000. Duvecn's purchase of Turner's picture "Rockets and Blue Lights" for £25,800 proved the record at the day's sale. Only onefifth of the collection has yet been offered.

£406.890 WORTH. Received April 10, 5 p.m. London, April !). At a sale at Yerkes' the pictures and other art objects realised €40(5,590. Hales' portrait of a Roman brought .£27,400. Two carpets from an Ardcbil mosque brought £12,500.
