GERMAN SURTAX REDUCED,
Berlin, April 8.
The German shipping lines have reduced the surtax on freights to Australia Iby 5s on Class 1 and 2s 8d on other classes per cubic metre.
COMMONWEALTH FISHING INDUSTRY. London, April 8. As a result of the Commonwealth trawlers' investigation, Mr. McCall, Tasmanian Agent-General, has persuaded Mr. John Forbes, chairman of the Scottish Fish, Oil. and Guano Company, to visit Australia in the summer, with a ▼iew to the formation of a company to introduce Scotch methods to the Commonwealth fishing industry.
