RAILWAY APPEALS.
TWO NEW PLYMOUTH CASE>. By Telegraph.—Pri"s« A«socintinn • Wellington, April 8. A sitting of the North Island Railway Appeal Board, comprising Mr. Hasolden, S.M., and Messrs C. P. Ryan and M. Lee was held to-dav to hear two cases.
The first was an appeal by Archibald Macdonald, of New Plymouth, against his reduction from the .position of shunter to that of porter. Tim second was that of Robert B. Milne, of Xew Plymouth, who obected to his reduction from signalman tp porter. Mr S. G. Smith appeared for tlie appellants. and 'Mr 11. Davidson for tlie Department.
Judgment .was reserved in both cases.
