Le Blon was killed whilst munoplaning. lie fell from a height of 140 ft at San Sebastian, owing to a defective motor. The aeroplane suddenly lurched and fell with a frightful velocity. Le Blon struck on some rocks in shallow water, and was terribly mangled. He expired on the quay. It is believed the aeroplane is the very Bleriot machine which caused De la Grange's death.

Madame Le Blon witnessed her husband's death. During a similar flight on Tuesday Le Blon's motor stopped and Le Blon was rescued from the sea.
