New York, March 31. Wolter's counsel is endeavoring to establish an alibi. He (declared that Wolter was merely the too] 0 f a gang of traffickers in young girls, and protests against the use of any statement extorted under the third degree ex«nination.
A shopkeeper testified that Wolter purchased a gallon of kerosene the day of the murder, and afterwards bought a pot of paint and a brush to hide trades.
