STRATFORD DAY BY DAY.
(From Our Resident Correspondent.) .St rat ford, Last Night. / Last night a heavy gale swept over Stratford, accompanied bv cold rain. Telegraphic communication was considerably interfered with, and messages to New Plymouth had to be sent by a decidedly roundabout route, being transmitted via Wanganui, Palmerston, Napier, Auckland, and the Kinsr Countrv. Telephonic communication with the back | eoyntrv is considerably interfered with, and the linemen are busy fixing tip the I lines. From accounts of the gale in other parts, stratford evidently escaped very lightly. Mr. F. Phimtroe, of Stratford, has disposed of his draper*' 'business to Mr. A. Spence, of Dannevirke, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Beale. of Palmerston. are at present on a visit to Stratford. | 1 —-=
