KING MENELIK DEAD.
A NOTABLE POTENTATE. By Cable.—Frees Asportation.—Copyright London, March 30. Eeuters Rome correspondent reports' that King Menelik is dead. Other reports confirm the report. Menolik nominated Lidj Jessau. nis grandson, as his successor in 190S, and the hoy (who is fourteen years of age) was proclaimed heir last year. Towards ' the end of 1909 the Emperor was reported to he seriously ill and It was said the Empress Taitou was exercising sole authority.
