SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By T*kgraph.—Prow Awociatiom. Wellington, Last Night. Following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' weather summary and forecast: The centre of the cyclonic disturbance uas' apparently passed the East Cape, but information has not yet been received from the northern stations. Heavy rain 'has fallen on the east coast of the North Island, and heavy floods are reported. South-easterly gales has prevailed in and north of Cook Straits, and moderate southerlies elsewhere. Present indications are for cold damp weather on the east coast northward of Banks Peninsula and Farewell Spit, with southerly winds, from stron'g to a gale but probably decreasing under the influences of westerly winds. Low pressure is due soon in the south, thereby reducing the .gradient. Cool and changeable weather generally may be expected.
