05ASTER EVENTS. During the Easter holidays the New Plymouth East Flying Club decided two races for young birds. The first event was flown from Waverley, 58 miles distant, thirty-five birds competing. The weather conditions were perfect for fast times to be recorded, a slight southerly breeze existing, being an. advantage and assisted the birds, most -of which homed together, the birds timing in at the same time being:—G. R. Wright's Blue Ribbon, W. H. Boulton's Whack, H. J. Moverley's Geneva and W. Bransgrove's Monarch, 1 hour 24% minutes'.

The second event was flown from Avamoho. a distance of eighty-three miles. Seven members competing, sending forty birds, which were kindly liberated by the Stationmaster. The weather was the reverse of that experi l enced during the former event —a strong north-west wind and cloudy s'sky «unfiiderably hampered the velocity of the birds. All race rings were handed in and checked the same day, which, under the circumstances, may be considered satisfactory. The race resulted as follows: W. Gleeson's Red Tips, Zhr 4f>min 30sec, 1; H. J. Morverley's Geneva, 2hr 46min 50sec. 2; C. R. Wrignt's Flying Cloud, 2hr 48min SOsec, 3; James Bros.' Condon, 21ir 40niin 40sec, 4. Yesterday the Club held si second race from Aramoho. again under different circumstances. The weather conditions need no comment, suffice to say the "gentle zephyr" allowed for no stopping places. The winning 'bird registered a velocity of 1885 yards per minute. Forty birds competed, the places being filled as follows':W. H. Boulton's Trinket' lhr 17V»min. 1; H. J. Morverley's Hiawatha, lhr 17min 55sec. 2: C. R. Wright's Royal Blue, lhr 18mm fisec, •3; H. Arnold's True Blue, lhr 22% min. 4.
