Bates' Weather summary and forecast: A ejtelone of exceptional intensity and with very low pressure in th<? far north has caused considerable disturbance over the North Island. There have been heavy easterly 'gales and rain, with floods in various parts. The present indications are for a heavy southeasterly gale, with heavy rain, on the east coast, especially between East Cape and Banks Peninsula. A southerly gale with rain and colder weather is prdbable stoon elsewhere. The centre of Ihe cyclone will probably pass East Cape fei the morning.
