WEDDINGS.
STEWART—STEUART. At St. Mary's Church on Easter Monday Mr Mervyn Stewart, of Cornwall, England, was married to Miss Margaret Steuart, of New Plymouth. Owing to | the recent death of the mother of the bridegroom the wedding was an exceedingly quiet, simple one, and there were no guests —only the family of the bride i taking an immediate part in the ceremony T.he wedding dreys was of fin© white muslin, slightly trained, and trimmed with delicate lace and insertion. The hat was of pure white, widebrimmed, and trimmed with a band of nufes-green velvet and sprays of fern, at | one side being a cluster of tiny pmk i roses. In her hand s'lie carried a small j sheaf of white Russian anemones and j fine maidenhair. The only bridesmaid | (sister of the bride) also •wore sott white muslin and lace, and 'white chip hat trimmed with big bow of thick white s'il'k. The bride, during her residence here,, has been a faithful and , most valued member of St. Mary's choir, so, on the bridal party leaving the church Mr Renaud played the wed-1 cling march with great goodwill and in! his usual masterly style. At the door | the radiantly happy pair were greeted ; with a perfect snow storm of white | rose petals. Mr and Mrs,' Stewart are ! leaving New Zealand at once for their j future home in Falmouth, England, and , they carry with them the good wishes j of all who know them. ! I GILMORE—COOMBES. . i Mr Gilbert Gilmore, of Hamilton, and Miss Violet Coombes, of New Plymouth, were married on Monday, and this also was extremely pretty and very simple. The bride wore a white cloth coat aad • skirt with pale blue stripe, the buttons and faolngs being of blue. Her hat ""is I a large white one, with band of blue and white embroidery and big wings of pale blue. She carried a white ivory I prayer book, and had two bridesmaids in attendance, her own and the bride- ■ groom's sister They wore tucked and buttoned dresses of cream cloth •with vokps of lace and silk cord, and their large hats were of olive green straw! |,with folded silk and pale blue wings, j 'Their very pretty shower bouquets' were composed of pink bella donnas' and white miehaelmas daisies with long streamers of pale pink ribbon. The groomsmen were the bridegroom's and the bride's brothers. Many are the good wishes following the young couple to their future home.
