Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Handle}', of Xapier, are visiting New Plymouth. The Rev. John Laird, pastor of the Baptist Church, returned to New Plymouth last night, much benefited in health by the change. Mr, W. W. Smith, curator of the Recreation Grounds, proposes to. leave New Plymouth 011 Thursday morning for the South Island, where be will engage in a spell of scientific resw-rch work. Mr. F. Sergeant Magnire, of Wellington, takes up Sergeant Stagpoole's duties on the Ist April The funeral of Mrs. Henthcoat Livingston took place at Hawera on Saturday.
