HARBOR BOARD. The adjourned monthly meeting of ti»» Waitara Harbor Board was held on Wednesday last. There were present s«•Messfrs G. H. Stubbs (chairman), W. T. Jennings, M.P., Chappell, Jenkins, Spurdle and Foreman. The secretary of the New Plymouth Harbor Board wrote asking for information *s to who made the survey of the port appearing in the Nautical Almanac for 1910. —Information to supplied. I The Marine Department forwarded a eopy of reports by Captain Bollona, of tihe s.s. Hinemoa. and Captain McKellar, of the s.si. Kaikoura, in reference to the •hoal off the Waitara roadstead. The manager of the New Zealand Shipping Company wrote stating that Captain McKellar, of the s.s. Kaikoura, re- j ported that on making the anchorage off Waitara on the night of February 13th, he found some difficulty in making out the Waitara flagstaff light,- owing to th« number of brighter lights fn we town. Hp understood that the Board was installing a more powerful light at the flagstaff and trusted that such in•tallat'on will be completed as soon as possible.—Resolved that the letter be aolAowleiiffed. i The Waitara Borough Council wrote approving of the draft Harbor Bill so far «a it affected them. A number of new leases were approved by the Board. The statement of accounts as shown in the balan«e-sheet was approved. The chairman (rave notice of motion that clause 5 he deleted from the jiarbor Bill.—lt was resolved that consideration of the Bill be held over until next meeting. Mr. Chiappell moved that the Board take into consideration the advisableness of procuring a erane for the wharf. The Audit Department returned the' Board's balance-sheet for the year ending the Slat December, 1300. Accounts amounting to £O7 S« were passed for payment.
