Bates (Government J meteorologist) gives the following weather summary and forecast: A westerly disturbance prevailed on Friday and Saturday southward of New Plymouth and Napier, with rain ■apparently over the whole of the South Island. On the west coast of the North jTqtatidj south of Kawhia, conditions toflaj have been ominous for a disturbance in the far north. An easterly gale with heavy rain is probable southward of East Cape and Kawhia. There are indications for fine weather southward •of New Plymouth and Napier, with a high barometer.
