ANNIVERSARY OF TARANAKI.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —In connection with t'lie sixtyninth anniversary day of the landing of the piigriin fathers by the barque William Bryan, I have to beg your assistance in giving publicity to the invitation I now extend on behalf of the citizens of New Plymouth, to all those pioneers and early settlers who landed at Moturoa or New Plymouth prior to 1845 to be present at the picnic to be held at the East End Esplanade, New Plymouth, on Anniversary Day, March 31. I find it impossible to send individual invitations to all, those who come under the list, so I am doing it in a general way through the press'. Ido not wish the early settlers to think that the invitation now given is on this account less real and hearty than if it had been sent to them individually. It is only on account of lack of information as to the names of those who are still living that I fall back on a. general invitation. I hope to s'ee and welcome all members of the grand band of pioneers who ari with us and well enough to come *o New Plymouth on March 31. I - vsn etc., G. TISCH,, Mayor and Chairman Anniversary Committee.
