THE MELBOURNE SENSATION

FURTHER DETAILS. By Cable. —Press Association.—CopyrSgm. Melbourne, March 22. The noise of the Fitzroy explosion was heard at Melbourne. Several columns of van-coloured flame shot into the air. It is estimated that 500 feet of iron verandah and pillars were twisted and thrown across the street, while debris of all descriptions was thrown on roofs of adjoining premises. Two little boys from the same room from which the girl was precipitated had a perilous experience. A portion of the floor on which the bed stood remained attached to the walls, and when the lads awoke they found themselves on the edge of a precipice orf flames. They were enabled to creep into a place of safety.
