SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast is as follows:—A westerly area <of low pressure passed in the south on Sunday with strong westerly winds, followed by southerlies with rain in most parts and snow on the higher levels in the extreme south. Present indications we for strong southerly winds, with cool and Showery weather generally. Rain ■will probably be heavy in parts of the North Island. A westerly low pressure is due in the south on or about Thursday.
