FIRES.
OUTBREAK AT AUCKLAND. T3y Telegraph.—Prosy Association. Auckland, Saturday. A fire at Prospect Terrace, Mount Eden, destroyed a house owned by Mr. H. Paltridge, of Napier. Mr. Arthur Hodgson had moved in a few hours prior to the outbreak, but during his absence the fire occurred, The cause ,s a mystery, NEW SCHOOL DESTROYED. Pahiatua, Last Xight. Shortly belore nine o'clock Inst night a fire broke out in the new district high school building, which was only completed and opened by the Minister of Education a few months ago. The whole of the main building was completely destroyed, as well as' a detached building used as a secondary school. Another detached building used as an infant school was saved.
