AEROPLANE IN AUSTRALIA.
A SUCCESSFUL FLIGHT. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyrijf'rt Received March 18, 12.5 a a.m. Melbourne, March The first aerial flight in Australia was accomplished by Hondini, a music hall performer. He used a Voisin biplane, weighing 1400 pounds, with a OS horsepower petrol engine. The trial took place at Digger's Rest. He first covered a mile in little over a minute at a height of 40 feet; the second went up 100 feet and remained in the air three minutes, and the third flight covered three miles in a little over four minutes. The machine descended gracefully and gently to the earth.
