A boy named Bacon, on the plains near Port Macquarie, was given some detonators by another lad, who found them. Bacon's mother, being ignor.int of their nature, told him to throw thin . away. He threw them in the kitchen . fire. A terrific explosion occurred, the . lad being literally blown to pieces.
