TEST MATCH STOPPED BY RAIN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, March 14. Rain commenced early this morning a»d fell heavily till noon, putting an end to all hope of continuing the test match this afternoon. If the rain clears' off it may be resumed to-morrow morning. T. Warn-e, a member of Wie Australian team, who lias charge of the Carlton ground, says that Dunedin provided the only of the tour. There is no need to import soil to make wickets. New Zealand soil is good enough, but care should be taken with the foundation. He thinks New Zealand cricket likely to make no marked improvement until a good ivicket is provided. Later. Rain ceased soon after noon. The teat match will be continued at 11.10 to-morrow, and will close at 5. The following players will represent Fire Brigade against luglewood on Thursday at luglewood {U<am will leave by the 12.50 train).—Clarke, Best, Ounson, I. Biillot, L. Bullot, O'Halloran, A. Higgs, R. Woods, W. Sadler, G. Knight, Billings, Grant, Roch, and Renner.
