Denis Corkery, a well-known farmer, aged 60, got his leg caught on the step of a trap. The horse bolted, and he was dragged round the paddock. When found by his sons he was dead, his neck having been broken. FOUND DROWNED. Nelson, Monday. •John W. Claridge, bootmaker, Wainica West, was found drowned in the river, "Having apparently been thrown out of his trap. SEQUEL TO A LOVE AFFAIR. Gisborne, Monday. A Maori girl named Ivy Pomare, aged 18, committed suicide at Tolaga Bay a* a result of a love affair.
