FIRES.
AT HAMILTON. By Telegraph.—Pres9 Associate Hamilton, Monday. A fire at East Hamilton early on Sunday morning totally destroyed three shops, two of which belong to Mr. W. Dey, and were used as a general store and post office. The third was owned by Mr. Gardiner, and occupied by J. White, general fancy goods dealer. The fire started in White's at 4 a.m.. and the building, being an old wooden one, was consumed. The firemen were to prevent a spread, as there was #•',.water available.' Dey's shops were H&ured for £IOO, the stock for '• £2OO, and the stable for £SO. White's stock"was insured for £250 and the shop for £IOO. UNLICENSED HOTEL BURNED. Dunedin, Monday. The'' Seacliff Hotel, now unlicensed, was burned down shortly after midnight on Saturday. It was insured for £SOO, and was occupied by Mr. Berry.
