At the wool sales to-day merinos were firm, but unchanged. Crossbreds were stronger, American buyers operating more freely. ADDING TON STOCK MARKET. Christchurch, March 0.

• At Addington there was again a large entry of stock, especially of sheep. Store sheep sold with practically no change in values. Fat lambs sold well, heavy-weights being rather firm. Fat tattle were easier, and pigs met with a dull sale. Fat sheep were firm. Store eattle were in improved demand, and dairy cows sold .well. The entry of store sheep was made up principally of wethers and ewes, lambs being in smaller proportion than of late. There was very good demand, and prices showed little or no change. The yarding of fat lambs was not as l*rge as last week, totalling 8784, and they were somewhat uneven in quality. 'For breeding ewes there was a good demand throughout, the sale of heavyweight freezers and tegs meeting with keener competition and being ratheT firmer in price,' while other sorts sold well up to last week's rates. Of fat sheep', the larger proportion being owes, there was a good demand throughout, sales being botli for export and local eonsumption. Last week's rates were fully maintained, good wethers soiling rather better. Prices: Prime wethers, 15s fid to 19s; extra, to 20s 6d; others, 13s 7d to 15s; prime ewes, 12s 6d to 14s lid; others, 7s Dd to 12s. The. entry of fat cattle totalled 353 head, the bulk being of moderate quality. The sale vas a dull one, and prices were easier by about 6d per 10011). There was a iair yarding of store cattle, including a Southland consignment. There ■was an improved demand, and yearlings made 26s to 355; 15 to IS-months, £2 Is 8d to £2 14s Id; two-year steers, £3 to £3 17s 6d; 2y 2 -vear steers, £4 10s; 3-year steers, £5 15s; 3-year heifers, £4 10s to £4 13s; dry cows. 37s to £5 7s 6d.
