Duez, the liquidator of several raJigious associations in France, who was arrested on a charge of misappropriating £200,000, has confessed to embezzling £20,000 when he was a solicitor's clerk. Since then he lost £25,000 on the Stock Exchange. The police raided the house of Duez's mistress, and there discovered SsuOO worth of jewellery, besides various shares and bank accounts. The police are also searching the house of a woman to whom Buez arranged to advance £12,000. -
