MONTHLY MEETING,

The Taianaki fecliool Commissioners lield their usual monthly meeting yesterday, vvhea there were present Messrs Jas. Wade (chairman), \v. T. Jennings, M.P., I''. Simpson (Commissioner ot Crown Lands) and A. Morton. Mr C. E. Major applied for leave of absence, but the request was declined. It was decided, subject to the Board's solicitor reporting all matters in order, and that the Board will not be rendered liable to any expense in the matter, that the Board agrees to a re-valuation being made of the sections leased to Mrs Jackson and proposed to be transferred to Mr Blake; and that Mr G. A. Marchant be appointed arbitrator. The treasurer was authorised to pay out £9OO to primary and £75 to ondary education. •' The Public Works Department notified the gazetting of the Kohuratahi roa i deviation, and the secretary was instructed to report upon the matter at next meeting. Transfers were sanctioned as follows:—H. M. Buckman to Ellen Kinsella, part W, town belt, 10 acres; N. G. Glasgow to C. E. W. Allen, of Hamilton, sec. 13, block 1, Ngathnaru; Mrs D. A. Cameron to" her husband John Cameron, sec. 24, block, 41, Kaupokonui. Permission was given to Chas. Clarke to surrender his leaye of three sections at the top of Standish Hill, and for new leases to issue to Victor Elliott, Ada Burt Elliott and Wm. L. Luscombe. Accounts amounting to £26 10s lOd were passed for payment. The secretary reported that Mr Gei. Pott bad surrendered bis' lease of the Kent road section, and had left tbe property. It was decided to acquire a strip of land six feet wide, adjoining section 805, town of New Plymouth, from the .Railway Department, and add it to the section at present leased to Mrs Webber, the cost not to exceed 1 £25.
