BIG DAM AG lis CLAIM AGAINST THE UOAKD. By Telegraph.—Press' Association. Auckland. Last Night, j Notice was served by the New Zealand Shipping Lomixuij- oh the Auckland Harbour Hoard to-day, of its intention to claim £Ki3,<iß7 damages caused hv the striking of the Ivaipara on an uncharted rock in Rungitoto Channel on January 14. The damage to the ship is put down at £BI,OOO, and to the cargo at 1'82,(i57. In the grounds of the intended action a»' set out it is alleged that the Hoard was guilty of breaches of duty and negligence, but for Which the accident and conseqxwnfc damage would not have been brought about.
