By Telegraph.—Pros* Association. Wanganui, March 10. A fourteen-roomed liou.se was destroyed liy tire at Waverley early thia inoruiiig. It was owned by Mr J. lluglic.s and occupied by Mr. Keiil, who had barely time to escape. It was insured for £OOO. Auckland, Last Night. A house of six moms ill the Marine Parade, Ponsonby, owned by Mr. A. Cole, man and occupied by Mr. A. K. Hobdiv. was almost completely destroyed by fii\* to-day, together with its contents. Mr«. Holiday is away from Auckland, and Mr. Holiday was <>n his way to town when the outbreak occurred. He cannot account for the origin of the firo, beyond a surmise that it may have been caused liv rats, for it apparently started in ta<' roof. The furniture was insured in tlic Yorkshiio office for £4OO. _ The insurance on the house was .€2OO in the South British office.
