Eighty-eight per cent of the engineers and firemen employed on fifty railroads in the west, north-west and south-west of the United States voted in favour of the strike. They are demanding higher wages. Stoning of the Philadelphia cars was resumed by a strike breaker, whereupon other strike oreakers riding in a car fired revolvers at the crowd a«d then wrecked the cars.
