The butter market is very firm *nd there is brisk demand, buyers waning for supplies; average price choicest New Zealand butter 123s ,Augu'n,u.in and Argentine 121s, Siberian ÜBs, Danish 130s. The cheese market is quiet, with a tendency in favour of buyers; New Zealand best white cheese averaging 59s j (3d and coloured 58s (id. The hemp market remains depressed. | Prices on spot: New, Zealand good fair £2.5 per ton, fair £24, Manila fair current £25, forward shipment good fair £24 Lis, fair £23 15s. The Manila output for the week was 19,000 bales. AUCKLAND STUCK MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Lad., report: — At the Durham yards on Friday heavy draughts sold at from £25 to £3O; medium do. £lB to £24; light harness horses and hacks, £8 10s to .£10; ponies, £2 10s to £6. At the Papakura yards on Tuesday dairy cows, close to profit, sold at from £o*to £8 ss; heifers. £4 to £6 17s 6d; other sorts, £3 10s to £4 12s (id; empty cows, £2 Is to £3 3s; two to , three-vear-old steers, £3 12s to £4 17s; 18-month steers, £2 3s to £3 10s; yearling, £2 to £2 0s; good calves, mixed, £.f 7s to £1 12s, others, 10s to £1 2s; bulls, £2 10s to £C. Sheep were yarded in average numbers at Westfield on Thursday. Wethers sold at from 12s fld to 17s 0d; ewes, 9s Sa lo los 0d; hoggets, !)s to 13s.
