I ADDING TOX MARKET. Christehurch, March At Addington there was a very large yarding of stock, and the entries of sheep of ;ill classes must have constir tuted a leconl. There was also a large attendance. There was no change in iat cattle Oj- store sheep, except in forward wethers and lambs and young ewes, which were easier. Fat lambs u'so showed a decline of about Gd per lio.ul. There was a good sale for fat pigs, hit a poor demand for stores. Fiat sheep iraintained their values, and there a good iale for dairy cows, but not much inquiry for store cattle. The entry of store sheep was a very heavy oie, and all the available space was | fully occupied. The entry was a mix>\l one, and a considerable proportion co r ;-1 consisted of low-conditioned sorts." For forward dry sheep, both wethers and lambs, that could 'be finished off | this season, there was a good demand, i and all classes of young and fresh-! mouthed ewes were also readily sale-, sole. All other descriptions of sheep were, on tl.e whole, easier. ! Forward wethers made 12s (kl to 13s 6d; two, four -ind six-tooth ewes, 15s lOd and 16s; four, six and eight-tooth ewes, 12s to 13s 7d; sound-mouth, 10s ; to 12s (3d; aged, 5s 6d to 8s lOd; forward lambs, 10s to 12s lOd; medium,' 8s to 9s 6d; and small, 7s to 7s lOd. 1 There was also an exceptionally heavy j yarding of fat lambs of mixed quality, the total being 12,025. Competition j among export buyers was keen, but prices showed an easing off to the ex- j tent of about (id per head. In fat i sheep prices kept up well to the previ- j ous week's level. There were 278 head of fat cattle penned, mostly cows and heifers, but of good average quality. There was a fairly good demand all through, and prices were about on a par'with last week io r steers, while cows and heifers I were a little lower in value. Calves made. 4s 6d to 50s, according to size and quality. There was a heavy entry of pigs, and for fats there was a "very good demand. Choppers made 40s to 4(>s. lighter 35s to 38s —equal to V/A to 3%d per :l>. Large porkers made 32s to 345, smaller 2Ss to 30s —equal to 4y 3 d per lb. A very prime and even lot of 52 halfbred Tamworth baconers made 445. Large stores made 27s to 31s Cd; medium, 18s to 255: small 10s to 13s; and weaners, 4s to 8s 9d.
