There were 278 head of fat cattle penned, mostly cows and heifers, but of good average quality. There was a fairly good demand all through, and prices were about on a par'with last week io r steers, while cows and heifers I were a little lower in value. Calves made. 4s 6d to 50s, according to size and quality. There was a heavy entry of pigs, and for fats there was a "very good demand. Choppers made 40s to 4(>s. lighter 35s to 38s —equal to V/A to 3%d per :l>. Large porkers made 32s to 345, smaller 2Ss to 30s —equal to 4y 3 d per lb. A very prime and even lot of 52 halfbred Tamworth baconers made 445. Large stores made 27s to 31s Cd; medium, 18s to 255: small 10s to 13s; and weaners, 4s to 8s 9d.
