THE SLAUGHTERMEN'S STRIKE
NO PROSPECTS OF A SETTLEM KNT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Saturday. There is no prospect oi a settlement of the strike. The floor hands and boys' at the Southdown works will commence work on .Monday with a fresh gang of 25 men to replace the strikers. It appears the fioor hands and gut boys, though on the books of the union, and having paid their subscriptions for some years, are not entitled to belong to the Slaughtermen's Union, according to the award.
