♦ NGAMOTU GOLF CLUB. The annual meeting of the Ngamotu Golf Club will be held in the Council Chambers at eight o'clock this evening. A full attendance of members is requested to deal with the important question of purchasing a permanent home for the club. The annual report to be presented refers to the continued success and prosperity of the club, and goes on to say that in the report for 1908-9 the committee stated it was' expected the season 1909-10 would close with a credit balance and this members will be pleased to know has been accomplished. Starting with a debit balance of £3l Is lid, the year closes 'with a credit of £7 14s 2d. The links have been kept in their usual good order and in addition to the ordinai-y expenditure the pavilion has' been painted at a cost of £9, all the greens top dressed, and the club house connected with the telephone. The membership of the club is as follows: —Players: Men GO, ladies 50; honorary: Men 7, ladies 19. During the season, matches were played on our links' with Inglewood, Waitara, Stratford, and Ha'weraj and return matches with Inglewood and Waitara on their own links. The ladies have had several interclub , mutches and also during the season had a very successful two days' tournament and propose having another at the conclusion of the men's Easter tournament. The arrangements for this are well in hand and we have no doubt the usual ! -uiocessful result will be achieved. The , committee would again impress on members the necessity of making themselves fully acquainted with the ruies and etiquette of the game, as a better knowledge of these is undoubtedly needed. . I New Links.—As you are aware a J special committee was set up to go into this matter, but owing to negotiations with Mr. Standish and Mr. Adden■brooke being in hand, nothing was done till we had the ofTer of about 104 acres from Mr. Stanley Smith. After giving the ■matter very careful consideration, the committee have decided to recommend tlie purchase, and a resolution will be submitted to you on Saturday evening. In order that the position might be clearly understood bv members a eirciil-ir was posted to each, giving full particulars. j
