SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Teie(jrnpTi.—Press Association. Wellington. Last Night. Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecase:—The barometer has been steady In the north, but has risen southward' of Kawhia and Napier. Unsettled and cloudy weather has prevailed, and ratn ih'as fallen over the South Island. Moderate to strong northerly winds have prevailed in the North Island, and changed by the west to strong southerlies in the south. Present indications are for an easterly gale northward of Napier and Kawhia, with rain and strong south-easterly winds elsewhere, with cool and changeable weather threatening on the east coast, but probably improving as the day advances. The barometer will probably fall for » time in the far north.
